Frequently asked

Does Escale tell me whether I need a visa?

No, and that is deliberate. The answer depends on your nationality and changes often; only the authority of the destination country is authoritative. Escale shows you what your itinerary triggers and sends you to the right official page.

Why does it ask for the booking reference?

That field decides everything. Two flights on different bookings mean separate tickets, so bags to collect, so a trip through the landside area: the entry rules of the transit country then apply to you.

Is the 90-day counter authoritative?

No. It is a count kept by the traveller, from what they entered. It helps you argue your case and decide, it does not replace the official entry and exit system.

Can the developer read my documents?

No. There is no server. Your data stays on the device and in your private iCloud database. See the privacy policy.

Can I get my data back?

Yes, at any time and with no purchase required, from the front page: the export produces readable text containing everything you entered.

A rule looks wrong to me

Every country shows the link to its official source and the date it was last checked. If the discrepancy is real, write in: that is exactly the kind of report that improves the app.
